Durring an event, what is the max oil temp that you guys are ok with? At what point do you say "wow...thats too hot"?
Chris
260F or higher and it is time for me to slow down.

On one of the cars I crew on....we saw it peg a 275 degree temp gauge...and it stayed that way (even in the pits for 30 minutes or so). I'd never run it that hot, but the Mobile 1 looked as good at the end of the day as it did that morning when it went in. I agree that I prefer to stay below 260 and no lower than 180 (oil can be "too cool", but it is not usually a problem). Good luck!

At watkins Glen we had a 520 RWHP vette runnin the oil at 305 degree for most of the day. I know your chuckeling... but all is still well...many miles later. Mobil 1 ...it held.

Jam master....I believe you 100% (I wonder what ours was actually running at...30 minutes later in the pits, it was still about 275 or so). Mobile 1 is great stuff.
