420-450whp H/C/I package support?
Other than boltons, and the H/C/I package, what else would someone need to have a reliable 420-450whp car (M6)? Will the tranny support the power goals? any chasis or suspension needs?
I really just want a street car that i'll occassionally take to the track (once a month or less).
I've been reading around but i haven't really found the answers specific to these power goals. thanks in advance!

your gonna need a lot of money. You need to upgrade your rear, clutch, driveshaft for starters. As far as the engine goes your gonna need a ported 90mm Fast and a 90mm TB, a set of stepped Kooks or QTP headers,E/water pump, bigger injectors, racetronics fuel pump, a set of ported 205 AFR or a set of ported ETP 215's and a MS4 cam or one around the same size. And any other little bolt on trick in the book you can think of should get you to the 420-450 mark even with a 12 bolt rear. I broke the 450 mark with a 12 bolt rear and a heavy steel driveshaft with a small cam and ported stock heads. A well matched combo can go a long way

I did:
1000 - ported 243's
400 - cam
700 - head bolts, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump, lifters
150 - gaskets
800 - install labor
100 - fluids
500 - intake
900 - clutch, slave clyinder, installed
550 - headers
400 - catback
125 - lid
100 - ported TB
5725 so far, next up is rims and sticky tires = 1300 - ish

i went to texas speed and spent like $4500 and made 420rwhp. prc stage 1 ls6,torquer 3,springs,push rods, timing chain, headers, ory, plugs, msd wires, thermo, installed and dyno tuned.spent like 600 on sfc's,torque arm, lca's,phr, at umi.and you will need a clutch and maybe an adj. master cylinder.and sticky tires like he said.then a fast 90/90 is another $1000 and pulley and belts is about $250.your stock rear will hold up on the street as long as you dont get alot of wheel hop maybe.alot of people are making that much power cam only but every car is different.gotta pay to play

I made 436rwhp/420rwtq with decent (not ridiculously expensive) heads and a nitrous-friendly, low-lift 234/236 cam. There are some nice "middle-of the-road" quality priced heads that will get you above 420rwhp easy.
Hooker/Pacestter/Jet-hot headers are fine for this power level and will save you $400+.
A ported factory TB and LS6 will start to cost HP right around this level of power, so that's your call. Ported FAST 90/90s have shown 15+rwhp gains, but at a serious price tag.
The electric water-pump is a nice luxury, but definitely not needed.
What year LS1? I would check the duty-cycle on the injectors before dropping the coin to upgrade them. If you have a 1998 or 2001-02, you'll probably be fine at that HP level. The fuel pump is another nice support item...
You will definitely need a new clutch. My stocker started to slip within a few weeks of getting the H/C package done. I went with a SPEC despite all the naysayers, and have had no problems...even with my current 383.
I am running the factory aluminum driveshaft with a loop.
You had better start saving for a rear-end. The 7.5 has been known to fail at stock power-levels, so adding another 100+rwhp is the kiss of death.
