New LS! Owner in Fort Worth, TX
Howdy everybody,
Steve H. here, from rainy-*** Fort Worth, Texas.
This past weekend I became the very proud owner of my first
Chevrolet - specifically a 2000 SS Camaro Convertible, pewter (silver?) with black top, black leather interior, 6-speed trans and 50K miles.
Til this point in my life (middle-age) I have been a Dearborn blue Mustang nut. However, since the demise of the 5.0 engine I have enjoyed my newer Mustangs less and less. At the same time, I couldn't help noticing the rave reviews, great looks and great performance of the GM LS1's. When this very clean little SS turned up just a mile from my home, I jumped on it.
And am I glad I did - these cars are A W E S O M E. Power everywhere, torque everywhere, in a great riding, great handling (to me at least), very solid package. I could not be happier.
Thanks for making us noobies feel welcome. This is an awesome sight!
Best regards,
Steve H. in Fort Worth, Texas
aka "BIG PENCIL"
PS: Can anyone tell me what, exactly, are "cutouts"? Thanks in advance! Also, which cat-back system would you recommend for a 2000 SS? Something with a nice rumble but not obnoxious...

I a SLP loudmouth II and it sounds awesome and not annoying. Cut outs is an exhaust by pass usually put at the end of you're headers or on the y pipe to create an open header's like performance.
