Cool Whats needed when changing Shocks/Struts ?

As far as things that I should but for the install. I have all the tools but I dont know if I should also get for example, the rubber strut thing that goes on top.
Im asking this as I might be changing my shocks and struts very soon.

The 2002 Camaro doesn't have struts. It has non-adjustable front coil over shocks.

Here are write-ups on replacing the shocks.

the 'rubber strut thing' is a rubber isolater on the rear springs. if you want to reuse it, you take it off the old springs, and put in on the new ones. it just sits there, not attached in any way. most people use a heavy foot of 5/8 heater hose instead, to get an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inch drop in the rear.
