Go to Napa or other local parts store, ask for fuel and A/C disconnect set. Bunch of little plastic circles that slide on and release the tabs. Costs about $10 for a 7 piece set.

Try Harbor Freight. Not exactly sure of the price, but they were real cheap. Think my set was like $1.99 when it was on sale.

If your really really patient and careful it can be done with a couple small regular screwdrivers, but it is a lot faster, easier, and safer to buy the tool.

In a pinch you can make a tool by cutting open longways a piece of copper tubing and then closing it around the fuel line and using it to depress the tangs.

I think autozone might have the disconnect tools as free loaners.

You must not work on and mod your car that much..
And no there is no home remedy, you do not want to mess them connections up.

The set will work for many connections on many modern cars. I fail to see how such an inexpensive set of tools is undesirable. You may be able to buy just the one you ned now for less, but the set covers a lot of different disconnects on a lot of different vehicles. Maybe someone in your area will loan you one? Hate to see you mess up a perfectly good connector.

I just dropped $10 on a damn Brass Connector to extend my Alternator Cable for..oh yea..the $6500 I have spent for my new Engine project..so

Those little dis-connects come in very handy. I have the one that I need, it cost me $4.99.

Those connector tools also work on the Corvette Fuel Regulator Filter. I would not count on using it just 1 time, on a coversion project things tend to be put together and taken apart then put back together several times. I have the plastic set, then ended up springing for the anodized aluminum tool when I found it on sale. It works much better, but the plastic ones will do.

Here is a set for less than $6.

You will also need one for the Hyd Clutch connection, so you many as well skip lunch or a beer or two for one day and just buy a set for $10 or so.

a few item that will need to tool for yours and other cars:
Fuel Rail
Vette Filter/Regulator
Clutch connector
Fuel Tank and return line.

Well, if you should damage the fuel line at the rail, I have the hose from a 2002 WS6 that I will be happy to sell you. Should run a bit more than $10 at the dealer...

dunnoe y i would need tool for clutch connector since i eliminated the quick disconnect...keke...alos the fuel tank and return line ish just a tube...no tools necessary other then a screwdriver....

maybe i will use the tool more then just once...like 2 time initially and once a year after that...if that...damn...still would rather find a cheaper alternative...guess i'll dish out the 6 bux...

The plastic ones have always given me trouble. I would get the metal tool. Tools to a man are like jewelry to a woman; there is never enough!

Default Tool

I think I paid $4.00 at the local auto parts(Advance/Discount)for my aluminum 3/8"/5/16" combo quik-disconnect wrench. Gosh, you could do the same & then just return it. Just think of the money you'd save!?
