taking my car to speed
what can I expect? I'm running mid 13s (best time: 13.29 @107.66) on 2.73. I'm bringing my baby into get some kooks headers 1 3/4 steped 1 7/8 to tds with magnaflow mufflers with tune. Did I make a good decision? How much more power will it yeild? I've heard alot of good things from speed, so there should be no qualms...

The better option for me would to get the SS tires 17 with a width of 275 all around (is it safe to go all around with 285?)
As for the selection of tires I would pick khumos because I really like the ones I have now, but would surely take goodyear eagles, or nitto in a heart beat based on what everybody says about them.
The whole tire thing would be something I would do after I do these mods around the engine are settled. So far I'm getting the headers this week, maybe in three months or sooner... get a fast intake manifold with a nw ported tb. But everyone also says fast is not the way to go unless I have nitrous or a good h/c package and especially when I have the poor money to spend time ratio I have.... I'll see how the z reacts to this.

those are some big headers, i have 1 7/8 primary LT's right now, way too big, my car makes some crazy power but only at 4k rpm's and above which is rather useless around town, i am thinking about going a diff. route now to get back some low end grunt, good luck!

You will probably crack a 12 in the car with the headers and a tune but with the 2.73 and stock stall you will be loosing a ton of time chugging through the low RPM range out of the power band and those headers will make that feel worse because it will pull harder at the top. put stall in there and it will run 12.5 or better on a sticky tire depending on the weight of the car and traction out of the hole. stall is he single best mod for any A4 imo. Hell.. I live a minute from speed inc and can take you for a drive in my car.. mods in the sig the car runs deep 12's with ease on sticky tires and its still on stock manifolds.

there was a guy on here(forgot his screen name) that went from a 8.6 1/8 13.1 1/4 to a 7.7 1/8 mile only with just a Yank PE 4200 stall and 13/4 long tubes and true duals and no tune! at all! I would suggest to get those headers you mentioned and get a yank PT 4000 stall and whoop ***!

The stall and built trans took my car on the 2.73 rearend from 13.3's to 12.70@106 with 1.7 60's on ET street bias plys. after cutting some weight, getting the 3.73s (still on a 10 bolt rearend too) and getting the tune dialed its run a best of 12.56@107 and 1.6 60's. If I put Long tube headers on and cut more weight by putting skinnies on the front and a hood and dialing he tune for the headers I could probably nail the 12.1-12.2 @108-109 range is my guess.

I would have to live awhile with em for awhile, until I get that money for that trans/ rear end package.
When I first bought the car, My ole neighbor from my old block who's also happens to be into Camaros (owns a few third gens, owned a few other previous gens) took one look at my exaust and said it was very restricted. For some reason, they took off the second tube from the cat, and still kept the stock mids. He was hoping that I would go with a borla cat back system with two exit tips.... but I was thinking bigger and badder..
