I Have Lt/headers Just Installed And I Have A Y-pipe Into A 3"exhaust All The Way Back.i Was Told A Muffler Can Give Me Hp/tq?????????????????????????????????????????

uh no. but if you use a straight-through (bullet or bullet style with more packing material) it won't hurt your HP/torque. Some engines actually need some backpressure to help keep pressure (not an expert by any means, just guessing with a lil basic knowledge) for low end torque but our LSx engines don't seem to need much at all if any.

i just removed my loudmouth 2 because it somehow tore itself apart

but i just put a pipe in its place but it actually feels like it pulls better in the upper rpms

but it its a 3in exhaust system and the lm is prolly 2 1/4 on the inside so its almost a restriction i'd say

but straight piped is loud!

It depends on the combo really and how much air its moving. If you have a stock internal motor it wont be as sensitive to a muffler or not (not enough to distinguish on a dyno). Now if your running a good sized cam with a decent amount of overlap then thats a different story.
