Default anybody know what the resistor on the a/c connection is for

when i did my m6 to a4 harness swap my new harness was stuck between the block and w/p. well i had to cut the wires and just had to cut through a resistor or fuse. what is that for? will it mess anything up? if so where can i get a new one.

I diode only flows one way and since electricity flows from - to + i'd say your right. But I dont know. I just took my compressor out to put a new manifold line on but I dont remember what you are talking about.
