Racer's Lounge - The best money I ever spent... Lots of pics

I paid $125 for this car and it ran very well! From where I bought it to my house was about 40 miles and I was driving about 60mph the whole time.

Day 1:

Sadly, we didn't get any pictures of it stuck in mud. :( I was surprised at how good the car took some mud holes..went right through it. And only 3 cylinders were working because of broken rocker arm in the cylinder head.

Also, notice it had a donut on the back :)

This car was beat to shit after this adventure! At the end of the day it wouldn't even move under its own power...We used the 4 wheeler to get it some momentum and then it would drive, but hard trouble even going 5mph...we thought it was dead so we left it in the woods, and would return Day 2.

Day 2:


We bought some oil and had some water, thinking the car was low on both... when we get to the car and check the fluids...it is full! Wow! So I drive the ar home and it has all its power back! I guess it just needed to cool down...

We decided the car weighed too much and cut off the rest of the roof and doors...and then the adventure began! It is very fun hitting mudholes and jumps going about 40mph in a go-cart!

Day 3 will hopefully be the day of its death...
No one can ever say a Ford Escort is unreliable...It has been running on 3 cylinders for awhile hitting mud holes, getting stuck, jumping into the air, and crashing into stuff.

And I only have $136 invested in the car...$125 for the car, then money for gas and oil.... A lot cheaper than modifying my GTO, and I'm having a lot more fun!

It was so ugly, I had to take it off the U.S highways.

I bought the car for $50.00 and took it to pig roast at a friends farm, where it was summarily trashed over the coarse of 3 days of heavy drinking and drug abuse.

It wound up looking like something from the epilog of the movie Bonnie and Clyde.

We've had a few of those cars. The best was a Aries K, we bought for 15 bucks including the auction fee at a public auction.

That one ended up getting abandoned in a police chase. We never registered it, and nothing ever became of it. Was funny at the time though.

This was a good day..lots of action shots. Also some good damage to the car... I was driving around 25-30mph and jumped out.. the car slammed into a tree. The front end is a little bent in the middle as you can see in pics.

We made a woods car out of a '72 Catalina with a 400 and auto. Cut the wheel wells out so oversize tires would fit and exhaust through the hood . No weight reduction, though. The ol' girl proudly defended Pontiac's honor and after a ton of abuse, the starter finally croaked ( too much time in the creek?).

hey we had a escort that we made a field car to. It was my friends that he rolled end over end 4 times, I was in the car for that one it sucked, no injuries though. We pulled it out of the ditch it still ran, jacked the roof back up, and took it out to myfriends field where we have several other cars we wreck around and then burn. I can see where this would be true. The cars are usually a lot lighter too so you skip over the mud as opposed to sinking like a rock. :lol:

My cousin had a 1988 Toyota pickup, with working 4wd. He got it for $400, ran awesome, and actually drove it for about 6 months. Thing had rust holes in the bed big enough for you to stick your fist through, no rockers, holes in the front fenders, total rust bucket. He finally pulled the bed when pieces of it started falling off going over bumps. Made an awesome field truck until one of the brake lines busted at 60mph :eek2: going down a hill straight towards the woods.(ebrake was busted too) He couldn't get it stopped in time and bailed out at the last second. Said it probably hit the tree head on going 20-30mph, needless to say that was the end of that truck. I'll have to ask him for some pics and post them.

There was an MR2 that some dude abandoned at my parent's old shop. Instead of putting a lien on it for their bill, they just let me dispose of it. It had a blown headgasket so we filled it with water and did clutch dumps until it stopped smoking, then kept driving it hahaha incredibly fun.

Finally crashed it into an embankment and left it there. I left the key in it hoping someone would steal it. It was gone the next day.
