Default HP Tuners or something else

Ok,
I was looking into HP tuners and getting wideband 02. A buddy of mine and I are going to split.
i used to work with LT1 edit but it was a bit daunting. I was looking into HP Tuners but then realized there is also LS1 edit and others out there. How user friendly are they?

I know one has to have a wideband for logging. What is the best out there. think of my knowledge as just below intermediate.

I just ordered a book on EFI tuning.

any help or suggestions?

thanks

To me, HPT was a ton more user friendly and well laid out. I tune with HPT.

Do you have any tuning experience? If not you might be better off paying for someone to tune it.

I don' think hptuners is very user friendly at all. Its fairly powerful and pretty much designed for hardcore tuners. Not end users. That said I am figuring it out but its taking some time and effort. I have done some tuning on my other cars in the past. My dsm tuning programs are also powerful but totally user friendly since it was designed for end users not tuners.
So think there is a market for easy to use tuning program. But I guess we have things like the predator for that.

Hptuners does have a forum and you will find some advice on the tuning secton of this board.

This isn't a plug for EFI LIVE. But they do offer a Demo version for you to get a feel for the program before commiting to buy. Something HPTuners does not. Alot of the tables in EFI LIVE are identical to HPT so you can use it as an eye opener if you did want to get HPT. Check it out at www.efilive.com

Your best place to start would be here https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/368718-read-me-best-ls1-tuning-software-best-scanner-best-handheld.html

And compare the two for yourself http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1//HPTvsV2.pdf
