Default INTAKE pipe TOO Big???

I have a 3" outlet coming off the intercooler and I stepped it up to a 4" pipe going from the intercooler to the throttle body......some people are telling me this may be to big and be hurting the performance.......I'm not denying that this may be true but what aspects of the performance may be hurting.

Thanks.

I have seen plenty of setups like you are decribing. I have no experience with them but I cant see how it could hurt power.

It will not hurt anything, although there is no need for it to be that big.

Theretically it could cause a boost lag, but that is probably less than 1 thousanth of a second. People run 4" tubing to rear mounted intercoolers without problem, so you have nothing to worry about.

i used to have it stepped off the IC were it left from 3" transitioned to 4", worked just fine. you have to have it transitioned somewhere to get it to match the TB anyways.

That is what I am running( 3" from blower to intercooler and 4" from intercooler to TB ) and I have no issues.
