I recently had a new motor installed.. A 402 with ported l92 heads and the L76 intake. I have Ford 42 lb injectors so the fuel rails are spaced up...Runs great!! Looks like crap! IMHO
Does anyone have ideas as to what can be done to improve the look under the hood of my C5? I mainly looking for engine components.. I have thought about a sheet metal intake and billet fuel rails. Another thing is the MSD coils and have the coil brackets powder coated.
Fuel rail covers dont fit... Who sells sheet metal intakes?? Fuel rails??
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks for the assist!

We just did this is a stealthy LS7 with L92s, L76 , SVO 42s and LS1 fuel rails. BTW it made 529/530 RW .

if you look around you can get the fuel rail covers and intake and stuff like that airbrushed ask around about truefire....the guy that does that would certainly clean up your engine bay!!!! and the rest of us would be extra jealous lol

Out of curiousity, why didn't you use the stock L76 ijectors?

I used the stock L76 injectors and used the Kateck LS1 harness to injector adapters. I'm also looking to get the top end pretty again.

need some input on what hookups... we are putting the motor in my car this and next week.
Offset rockers, need new intake rockers and pedestals. I have SVO 42lb injectors.... but they where already made to fit my GMPP intake..... I am using my stock harness. What else should I worry about? Anything out of the ordinary?

You're wishing the Gen III/IV engine bay could look as good as the Gen I. Doubt that's going to happen 100%, but you can make them look good, even real good. There's nothing like looking under the hood and seeing next to nothing but engine. In the C5, you're just about out of luck.
The F-Body has some hiding places. People relocate the coils to under the cowl, the computer into the fender well, etc. I'd direct you to the huge ass engine bay thread that has some knockout pics, but it's almost all F-Body.
I'd start a thread in the Appearance section or on Corevetteforum with the title "Post the Best Looking C5 Engine Bays." That might get you some ideas.
Good luck.

I just did new valve covers from ABEAR on my 97 C5 LS7. Hide the coils with the enclosed covers.

I guess the shop that did the work did not have the adapters for the injector wires. I may end up buying the adapters and going back to the L76 injectors.

Where you able to tweak the LS1 mounting tabs on the rails enough? Or did you use offset standoffs or something?
Thanks.

Tweak and ~1/2" spacers made from tubing. Really about a 1/2 hour job. Done more than a few.

Does the vent line connect to the catch can only? Or I guess I should ask, are you using any engine vacuum on the catch can tank?

A small restricted line to manifold, just enough to stop huffing at idle.

ever thought of using an evacuation kit with the catch can?
