Procharger "Big Red" Blow off valve adjustment
I have the Procharger "Big Red" race blow off on my car and wonder if it's possible to adjust so it doesn't dump so much air at idle? I know it's supposed to but my car sounds like a giant street sweeper while cruising which takes away from the "street car" persona of the car-I's rather hear the blower whine than hear that constant hissing. I was thinking of maybe switching over to a Mondo and putting a filter over it but is that any quieter-It's too much of a maze to plub it back into the inlet of the blower. I do need a big valve because I am running over 18psi. It's really too bad cause the valve looks great and sounds wicked when letting off the throttle.

Can't you just tighten the screw on top? Your not suposed to make it too tight though because it's hard on the blower. i would guess yours is pretty loud though because mine is loud and I'm only pullied for 13psi so yours must be pushing a lot more air. I bet if you put some rubber hose/tube on it and dumped it down low somewhere it would quiet it down a bit. The extra hose should kill the sound.

I'm in the same shoes as you. I had the same valve. I run 17psi.
I already switched to the plumb-back style and it isn't any quieter.
You can tighten the valve down, but it doesn't make it quieter; it just changes it from a street sweeping sound to a squeal.
I put a K&N filter on the end of my plumb-back style and the first time out it shot it off like a rocket when the boost relieved. The filter was never found. I havn't done it yet, but the only thing that I think will work to quite it down is the plumbed back style Big Red with a tube to a VERY big air filter.
For now I just live with my street sweeper.

I love the sound of mine. Like a rattle snake warning to any potential hopefuls on the street. Downshift a gear or two and let it really swoosh the air out and see if they still wanna play I'll bet mine is even louder that you guys because mine vents right out of the front right heat extractor on my hood I love the sound

The problem with tightening it is the air has to go somewhere so it will heat up in the blower and go out your air cleaner. Running the vent back is fine, but putting a filter on it may not be enough flow. You could re-route the air tube, use it as a after market air pump to make emissions happy lol.
