Default Tr224, AFR205, LS6 intake, dyno...???

So i'm looking into the setup mentioned, on a LS1 block (M6). Do any of you have this setup? if so, what kind of dyno numbers are you yielding, track times, etc?

I'm looking to hit 415-420rwhp and i want to see if its worth it to go with the AFR205's or just get some budget heads.... let me know your opinions...

If youre gonna want the 415-420 you will need the nicer heads, either way you should be over 400 though. Which with the right suspension setup will get you into the high 11's

What nicer heads were you referring to? I thought AFR's were damn near top of the line?

Do you have to keep the stock cats and in the stock cat locations? If so, you might want to check out thunder racings cheatr cam. Designed for stock exhaust and it's a proven performer, especially with AFRs and a 90/90 setup.

Yeah, i saw that package but i wanted to go a little bigger with the cam... i'm not too worried about passing the visual aspect of smog (cats being in stock locations), the sniffer is what i'm worried about. thanks for the suggestion though

Pat G made an extreamely streetable 508/445 with those heads (ported). Look at that **** below! Freaking ~300 torque at freaking ~2200 RPMs. That's crazy power you'll probably not make with a 224/224 even down low like that (you'll never come even close to those peak numbers). That thing must be an insane tire frier on the street.

So, no. I would only use a cam reccomended by Pat G with those heads. Off the shelf grinds are out dated compared to what we can do now. Just think, would you buy Windows 95 for a new computer? Hell no. You'd be doing the same thing buying a yester-year cam. The LSx is moving just as fast as computers nowadays. Talk to Pat G, Pred Z, or a sponsor about a custom cam. Tell them you want streetable, under the curve power.

Thanks for the input. I should have been more clear. In Cali, we have to pass emissions (both visual and the sniffer), once ever two years. The laws seem to be getting even more strict here, so i just want the biggest cam that can pass the sniffer (which has come to be the tr224 by consensus on this forum), and find a shop that will overlook the visual. I'm not really interest in making monster, streetable power since it'll just draw attention and get me flamed by vultures (cops). Thanks again.

ps: that setup is crazy powerful!

Oh, yeah, well... that was an important little note there!

People are getting by barely with a 224/224 114 in Cali I've read. The AFR 205's have been able to reduce emmissions slightly, I've read. However, in SE Illinois, we have no emissions control, thank God. You could still make killer streetable power with the TR224 114 and AFR 205's through cats. Cutting it close though probably.
