DAMNIT! They are shooting the car for Hot Rod NOT!
Im so jazzed..
I just got an email from the photographer.. he sent his editor pics of my car and they want to feature it in Hot Rod Magazine..
This is a big deal for me since one of my "missions" was to try and generate more respect for the fourth gen cars.. too often we are overlooked in magazines like Super Chevy and Hot Rod in favor of the classic cars. There is a prejudice that our cars (because they are newer) are NOT muscle cars in the tradition of the 60's.. I want to show that we are not the "boy racers" that couldnt afford a real car.. that our cars are relevant.
Hot Rod Magazine is a big step.. besides featuring sponsored cars or new car reviews their coverage of new muscle cars is very limited..
Of course just because they shoot the car doesnt mean it will get used but there is a VERY good chance.. also, keep in mind that it took Super Chevy 8 months from photo shoot to print (hope HR is faster )
Well, guess Id better go start cleaning

Re: WOO HOO! They are shooting the car for Hot Rod Mag
Yea its guys like us that need to be out in all the magazines more. I think me, andy, jon, and a few others should also be getting in magazine's. I pretty much never see any 4th gen's in any magazine's or car shows unless its a all american show. I see a lot of worked up mustang's, but no f-bodies. Heck MustangWorld or whatever that big mag is called is a pretty good magazine, too bad we don't have that goin for us .

Congratulations! I'm sure they'll run the pics in their mag. & You'll have some professional pics of your car to keep on the coffee table.

Re: WOO HOO! They are shooting the car for Hot Rod Mag
We set everything up for next Wednesday.. then I get home and have this email:
Do you have any of your results from Buttonwillow? Freiburger is balking now because he thinks the car is too pretty to be fast. He had already green lighted me, now he's backstepping. Looks like it might not happen. Send me some results from the track and I'll see if I can't change his mind.
What a load of crap is that.. to pretty to be fast? How many cars in Hot Rod are run on a drag strip or road coarse.. let alone both
Oh, btw Freiburger is an editor over at Hot Rod.. Cant send him Buttonwillow times since its an non-timed event..
lame..
maybe an email campaign to David Freiburger.. lol..

At least you can tell Freiburger that you're driving a finished car, and half of his half-finished projects combined couldn't even compare! Maybe he should print track times from his Bullitt Mustang as a comparison . I like Hot Rod Magazine (and subscribe), but it seems to be packed full of egos.

Sorry to hear about the delay, noticed I said delay, your car is fast and to top it off awesome. You will be there soon with a photo shoot.
There was a great thread and I can not find it for the life of me in the forced induction section. There was a editor from GM High Tech talking to someone who was wanting his car in the magazine and the editor had insisted that he had track times or basically no go. That speed thing is important, but your car is modified (cam) and is fast.
I will try again to find the thread, it was interesting.
