Default How To Get Deeper Noise

I have a 99 ws6 a4 with just a magnaflow catback exhaust and SLP lid. I have wished I went with a SLP Loudmouth exhaust instead, but I am happy with the way magnaflow makes there exhaust systems. I want to make my exhaust LOUDER!! Can anyone help me? I dont want cutouts, but will buying a pacesetter Y Pipe make it that much LOUDER or not worth it????? Opinions appreciated!!!

Headers should do it with the cats.

the Magnaflow is kinda quiet on stock manifolds and cats. You are anti-cutout, so your options are to gut the cats, change the catback to LM1, LM2, Borla, or GMMG, install headers, or go true duals.

The Magnaflow is a nice stainless system, so I don't think that you should ditch it just because it is on the quiet side. I would save your $ for headers and a Y pipe. That will wake up your Magnaflow for sure.

A nice chambered muffler will do the trick with 3" pipes.

You should be able to sell the magnaflow and get a loudmouth if that's what you really want. I think the loudmouth sounds like crap but everybody has their own taste. It will be louder for sure, but not deeper.

get a different muffler, I have got longtubes with an ORY and a Magnaflow muffler and it sounds quieter than a LM1 on the stock manifolds.....So I had to get a cut-out and now I just drive around running straight out the Y with the c/o open and it sounds so good

do you want a louder sound or a deeper sound?? there is a difference. For instance i know people with the slp loudmouth and their car is louder then mine but mine sounds alot deeper (I have true duals). Honestly you should just save your money and get headers then if it isn't as loud as you want switch up the exhaust but i think you will be happy once you get headers, I know one person with magnaflow and headers and it sounds pretty good

My friend has a Magniflow catback with Jethot long tubes and an ory and his car sounds pretty wicked. I hear it coming from inside my house with my tv on.

I have the SLP LM1, it is very loud, raspy even with the stock Y and stock headers. I wish it had a deeper tone, I like it only to a certain point. Im scared to put LT's and new Y on this system, I dont know if it is going to sound good. I think I am going to go True Duals when I do get the headers. SLP is the way to go if you want it loud and the next county to hear you coming. Good luck. I personally would do what quiet_storm98 suggested before you do anything else pertaining to your exhaust. I bet you are going to be pleased how it sounds after the Long Tubes and Y. Let us know what you go with.
