Default transmission

i am putting a new transmission in my 87 firebird but dont know what would be good to put in.i wanted to use hydromatic but i hear there is something else and im not to sure wuts arround that well yet. my engine is going to be a 350 ho if that helps. any suggestions?

200-4r
it can be built to hold alot of HP and are pretty cheap cores now.
