Street Racing & Kill Stories - Don't know whether i should be excited or disappointed...

The other night was the first night i actually "raced" someone in the new Trans Am. I raced my buddies 04 Mustang GT 5SPD, 35000 miles with Intake, TB, Predator tune, and short shifter.
First race we did from a 50 mph roll. I had it in 2nd and brought it up to about 100-110mph and had about 2.5-3 car lengths on him.
Next race was basically from a dig...at a stoplight we both were undecided on whether or not to race and ended up punching it from about a 5mph roll. He got the jump and around 55ish i was half a car ahead and we shut it down at about 60.
Final time i told him i would punch it after him. About 30 mph roll he punches it and gets about a carlength on me. At about 75 i caught up to him and you can guess the outcome. :judge:
This is my first LS1 and i'm coming from a Mustang GT to this. Should i be happy with those results?
My cars a 2000 Trans Am M6, 52000 miles, stock down to the paper air filter aside from an exhaust cutout. BUT i have heavy ass 18x9.5 Chrome C6 wheels BOTH front and rear. Opinions? Comments? Questions?

BIG plans actually, small pocket book :jest:
Eventually i'll do full exhaust, true duals run out the back with an H-pipe and 1chamber flows. Thinkin about the Fast toys ram air intake, LS6 intake, ported tb, and a TR 227/224 112 LSA cam.
I'm kinda lucky that Thunder Racing is right in my backyard, but i have a feelin that my bank account won't be quite as lucky...
Figure i'd be lookin at around 385-410 hp with that crap and a good tune.

True, True. I'm a car guy and can appreciate anything thats tasteful and fast. GT's are fun b/c of all that torque, much more untamed acceleration compared to the LS1. But i see why everyone calls the LS1 a gift from god :drive:
But do you guys think thats about right for a stock LS1, m6? Like i said i haven't had anything to compare too except for the GT.

Dont be dissapointed.. Mustangs do respound pretty well to mods, your car is bone stock.. from 50-100/110 you put 3 cars on him.. thats rolling out on him pretty damn good.

The outcome sounds right to me. Good kill.
With what you have planned for your car, it will be a strong runner. And I like the exhaust combo you have planned for it.
This is a clip of the best sounding LS1 I've ever heard (he's a member here). I'd imagine with what you have planned, it will sound similar.

Good luck with the future mods on the car.

 I've always loved Flows, even though they don't flow worth a shit, hah. I figure with the 1 chambers the flow shouldn't be too bad, and i still get the badass muscle car sound without the rasp of an X-pipe.

I've always liked the GT's of those years, even tho Ford should of gave them a little more power. In all reality they make plenty of power to be daily driven and still take down most cars...but in the street racing world they need more..

Sounds about right to me, even a bit more of a lead than I would expect, considering the intake and tune. Sounds like you have a good runner and a great start.
Having a good shop nearby is a big part of the battle IMO. I have struggled with geography a lot in my projects, and I would kill to have a great reputable shop on my doorstep.

Yep me too, I had an 01 GT before this and it was my baby. Drunk driver took care of her :bang: As stated, they are fun little cars, but just underpowered and its exspensive to make them fast N/A.
