Do I need to tune or not?

Do I need to tune or not?
I have done some tuning on my k5 blazer (350 hp sb with the usual bolt ons) with a prominator and laptop and have a general grasp on mapping and actually got it to run pretty good.
I know the newer pcm's are a HELL OF ALOT different then my dinosaur k5 blazer ecm.
My question is how much can the stock pcm cope with by itself without tuning the pcm and mapping?
I plan on an afr head swap, cam, exhaust, and ls6 intake... roughly about 550 hp give or take.
Hehe, I can't even type that without getting giddy... and it's n/a. God bless the ls1.
