Sounds good. I'm FINALLY in the market for headers, and I want stainless, but always thought $1200+ was too high for a header set-up. These look very promising! Still have to pass visual inspection where I am, so I need the cats.

I had these headers and Y-pipe installed two weeks ago and they're great! The install wasn't bad (although I pretty much just watched) and they sound awesome. I'm going to an exhaust shop this afternoon to have some high-flow cats welded in. That'll get rid of the rasp I'm getting... which, btw, isn't really all that bad. I don't have a sniffer test where I live, but there's still a visual inspection to pass.

Be aware though, that the driver side collector sits (read: rests) on the underside of the car. I've read that a "couple" cars haven't had this problem, but the vast majority will. Another thing my exhaust shop is going to do today is do something to get the collector off of my under carriage. I suspect they'll heat the merge up a little and bend it down a bit. This is a mild issue and should not detract from a good and well priced set of stainless steel headers.

I am truly impressed with the quality of these headers and would recommend them to anyone. It's nice to see a quality product at a great price!

Anyone used a different brand of catted y pipe with these headers with success?

So far I have read Jet Hots y works and likely TSP should as well.

I think the Y that comes with, will fit up better than the Jet-Hot
(which I have, and it hangs pretty low at best). Plus the JH cats
are not very robust nor effective. Basically a Chore-Boy pad in a
stub of pipe. FI guys burn theirs out in no time.

JH and TSP are not stainless. Seems to me like you could get any
mini-cat welded in where it fits, at any good exhaust shop. As
long as they are set up to weld stainless, properly. They won't
take cats off but should give you no hassle putting them on. I
think I'd have it done with flanges and get a straight pipe set
fabbed at the time, too. So as you can inspect them often.

How are these headers after a few heat cycles through them? Do they still look polished like the pics, or do they turn a goldish color?

do you have those headers with AIR hookups? Mine's a 2002, and I want to keep the emissions.

Longtube headers = Illegal for street use

Whether or not there is an AIR tube for it or not.

Plus they look better without all that garbage. If you make it clean enough looking under the hood maybe they will let it slide because it is not as noticeable. They never pop my hood on my 99's. It is all done from under the dash on these cars.
