Default FINALLY! bought my cam MTI x1. What else do i need?

just bought my MTI x1 cam. I have comp 918s already installed. i'm picking up chromoly pushrods 7.4's.... anything else i need? cam install kits? what do they include?

just looking to make sure i have everything to make this easy...

i have no a/c or emission to get in the way so install shouldn't be to bad.

That's the cam I think I'm going with. Let us know what you think about it and post some sound clips. Good luck.

Well it is a crap shoot and with the amount of work involved and seing it comes off for cam install, Yeah, I would at least buy a GM replacement (ported not necessary)

Your crank bolt and front timing cover gasket will need to be replaced. As far as your oil pump (oil return line o-ring $5.86 if oil pump is
replaced) and timing chain, it’s going to come down to personal reference and mileage on the car. Knowing your cars has 70K or more, I would replace it in a heart beat. All the post I've read state that it's cheap insurance (under 200.00) to upgrade while you're in there. So me personally I say "yes". I just upgraded mine on my 2002 Camaro SS, but that just me. Did I need to, who's to say. Make sure you get
some lock tight and a torque wrench it's well worth the time. You may even want to upgrade your under drive pulley while it's off.

Dam I forgot about the water pump seal (good one)!!!!
Looks like a good list to me.
Now you need to add a LS6 intake too.

er...i thought i had one all lined up... but the guy seemed realllllllly shady... so i didn't pay him for fear of loosing 300+ dollars... this cam set up is costing some $... its not just buy a cam and put it in.. ha. already spent like 250 for cam (great deal), 120 pushrods, 45 timing chain, 60 for gaskets, thats it so far..... looking at like 100 for oil pump and 50 for oil pressure gauge. so you are looking at like 700 after its all done..

here is everything you will need:

new crank bolt
Valve Springs
New Retainers
New Valve locks
New Valve Seals
New Pushrods
New Oil Pump
LS2 Timing Chain
Timing Cover gasket
Crank seal
water pump seal
oil pump o-ring
LS1 Valve Spring Tool
Cam Install dowels
Dyno Tune

with the cost of doing everything right I would budget around $1500 when its all said and done.......

These are the two dowels needed to retain the lifter in the gallies (goes in the holes behind timing chain gear)

Whatever you do, do it right because it cost even more to do it a second time because something goes wrong. I'm super cheap myself, but I plan to do all the extras. Sounds like you'll be fine. If you aren't able to do it youself, go to a reputable shop because those shadetree guys don't usually stand behind their work.
