i have my motor pulled to change a few things along with my knock sensors the one in the back was dry but there was oil around the front one. seemed like a small amount. is it ok or should it not have any oil around it?

there are seals around the knock sensors that connect to that cap that houses the sensors in a sense. its hard to explain. when you remove the intake there is like a metal plate where the knock sensors go in.where the sensors screw in at the bottom was a seal. the seal was supposed to be connected to the cap but wasnt. therefore oil was getting into that area and around the knock sensor. i put the seals back in along with some black rtv.

One of my knock sensors had oil on it too so I used to RTV sealant around the bottom. I'm not sure if I had to, but I changed the knock sensor that had oil on it.
