Default Can the throttle opening on a LS6 intake be bored to 80 or 85mm?

Can this be done or has anybody done this? I'd like to put a 80 or 85mm throttle body on one. Seems like it would be worth a few more horsepower.

if i am not misktaken the composite intake cannot be bored out thats the reason they sell aftermarket aluminum ones! and u can use a 85mm TB when u buy the tb it should come wit a spacer to adapt to the size thats on the intake!

I don't know about the LS6 but you can open a Fast 78 to 85mm. There was a member on here that posted an entire "how to" thread on it. I did it to my 78 and it worked great.

Here it is - https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/675860-my-custom-ported-fast-85-85-pics.html

Don't know if any of it will help...

I thought you could like LT1's... guys used to take stock 48mm TB's, make new blades, and bore them to 52mm.

the throttle blade would hit the intake opening.
the BBk 80mm comes with spacer because of that.

I was kinda wondering about the LS6 intake ported to 80mm with a 80mm BBK throttle body. Seems like it do good...

I've been emailing Tony Mamo about the ported 78 FAST and which would be best for me. I'll probably give him a call monday and talk to him about it. I'd want him to port it if I did go the FAST way. He seems to be the best.

I did it. I have the 80MM BBK TB. It comes with the spacer to adapt, but I took it off and port matched the TB to the intake inlet. You have to be VERY careful because theres not much material there to take off, but the intake opening is 78MM, and you can open it up to 80MM, so thats only taking off 1MM all the way around the hole. My work on it looks a little shotty, but I think it works well.
