Default LS1 corvette swap??? doable

So i plan on doing a LS1 swap in a 1993 Trans Am within a month or so. Anyways i wanted to know what kind of ls1 i can use, the one i want to use came out of a 1999 c5 corvette, is this possible, i know ill need a F-body LS1 Tranny so other then it being an LS1 dose it really matter if it came out of a vette. getting everything PCM included.

Exact same engine... you will need to change the balancer to an F-body one, and you will need LS1 f-body bracketry as C5's use a different drive belt system. You will also need an LS1 f-body oil pan and dipstick. You will also need to find a cable operated TB, and you will have to change the intake manifold as the C5 intake in 99 had no provision for the throttle cable bracket.

If you plan on using the fuel injection (fuel rails, injectors, TB) from the corvette you will need the LS1 ECM (computer) and a wiring harness. I suggest you get a computer and harness the same year as your engine.

it would be easier to spend a little bit more money and get a complete ls1 pullout out of a f body, then trying to convert a whole bunch of stuff to make the vette motor work in the fbody.

Damn, i knew it was diffrent, i just knew it was to good to be true, darn, o well. I think he wants $1200 with everything. My friend is a doing a GTM factory 5 LS1 kit car so he got a 99 vette for this. o well if it seems to much ill just go with a F-body pull out.

So what if i buy a new oil pan,balancer,LS6 intake,brackets. This looks like its gonna cost somewere around 2K with the LS1 and have it fit in my F-body nicely without problem's. All i need now is a new transmission and iam set. so iam looking at around 4K on top of 3k that the car cost me and then another 2k for the k-member and all the requierd parts so iam looking at a 8K for a LS1 conversion after i sell all the unsed part's.

Can yo u guys call it right, em i near on what the cost should be.
