Is it necessary to have a speaker seal when bolting up a 6.5 sail panel woofer? The reason I ask is that i bought some rockford fosgate subs for the sails and the brackets did not have any padding on the back side of them. Will these make a bad vibration when bolted down? I would think that you could use a silicon sealer to make a type gasket if necessary. I know it is not about air seal because of the port where the wires come into the speaker chamber, but would think it would vibrate metal to metal like that.

Just trying to plan ahead.

Get some rope caulk to seal them in there. There was an audible difference when I sealed mine, the midbass improved greatly.

I don't think rockford makes subs that small....
