Midwestern Members - Just moved to Iowa from San Diego

Hey folks. Well , as the title states, I just arrived here in Iowa (Cedar Rapids to be exact) from San Diego and I was wondering if anyone has any gatherings or getogethers anywhere close? And where are the tracks around here ?

I was very involved with the f-body crowd in San Diego and hoping to meet maybe a few fellow LS1 enthusists.

Oh, and I used to work at a LS1 performance shop in SD too. So if I can be of help to someone for installs or advice, feel free to ask.

why on earth would you leave San Diego for anywhere in the state of IA?? lol.

Down in southern Iowa here...theres a 1/4 mile up in Cedar Falls.

There is quite a few places to gather here. Eddiville, and now the newton speedway. Also as mentioned the 1/4 mile in ceder falls

There is a pretty good car crowd in CR, I know they show up @ the track pretty often. Cedar Falls Raceway & Tri State raceway are pretty close to CR.

I go to Cedar Falls raceway most of the time for all night drags to watch...Since my 6 banger aint worth running. Let me know if your coming up on August 4th.

I'm in Center Point which is just north of cedar rapids about 15 miles. Closest tracks are cedar falls and tri state. I've heard tri state is the better of the two but I have only been to cedar falls.

As for car get togethers and such about the only thing I know of off hand besides some actual events that will pop up now and again is every Thursday night at Advance auto/chrome city off 16th ave has a gathering.
