Default Gear Question

I have an 02 SS my pinion seals leaking and the dealer found metal in my diff when i went to get it service i may need to replace a few gears in my diff. My question is should I replace my gears with the stock ones or something better also would it be possible to replace them with the vett gears?

If you have to replace them I would upgrade while your at it. What gear do you have now?

Pinion seal leaks are common, mine leaks but not enough to drip on the driveway. What metal in the diff - just small shavings on the magnet inside the cover? If it was serious I'd think the dealer would've freaked out and recommended extensive repairs.

a little of metal in the rear is really nothing to worry about, that is just wear on the gears. i would just have them fix the pinion seal and be done with it.

WELL THE DEALER SAID that they would have to take my diff apart to find out what gears are worn....the car is fully stock besides the slp below i also have to replace my wheel hub bearings which are going to cost me 452buccs just for parts.

Me neither dont trust them at all. I went back to the dealer yesterday to tell them to explain in detail my service ticket and he said that the bearings in my diff are bad which i can hear those but when i talked to them on the phone before I picked my car up they said something different. Im just gonna go to a different dealer and see what they say...thanks for the tips.

you can tell if gears are worn by just taking the cover off anyway...you dont need to take the carrier out
