Default Can't get the tranny lined up!

I just spent 3 hours wiggling and moving. I finally got the input shaft in, now it seems like I'm having trouble getting those two little tabs on either side to slide in.. Does anyone have any tips? I'm about to pull my hair out..

Pain in the ***, just keep fighting it. Its way easier if you have a tranny jack or 2 people lifting.

how did you align the clutch to the pilot bearing? you may have it in the clutch but you have to get the nose of the output shaft into the pilot bearing. If its off alittle, it will be a pain in the *** to get in and might have to be re-aligned.

I had the same problem and here's what I did. I went to a hardware store and found 4 bolts of the same size and length. I cut the heads of the bolts off and ground then them down to a round point and partially screwed them into the bellhousing (two on top & two on bottom). I then slid the transmission over the bolts and everything lined up great from then on.

Most likely the dowel pin holes were boogered up. I had that issue on a 02 z28 when we installed a transmission.
