Default change my fuel filter today, have a question

just did my fuel filter today with 65K with the stock filter still on there, wasnt to dirty when i took it off, but anyway before i did this i opened the gas cap then when i looked at my fuel rail to loosen the Schrader valve cap, it was missing i never even noticed it was gone before i had no use to look at it, so i put a new cap on, but my question is what was happening since that was not on there, and god knows how long its been off for, will pressure build back up since i put a new one on?? will i get better mpg now?

as long as the schrader valve seal is good, you have nothing to worry about.

The cap is just there to keep dirt out/protect of the schrader valve - wouldn't worry about it. Maybe someone did a pressure test and forgot to put it back on.

did you run the car or at least turn the key to the on position to prime the system?

Sometimes when I get gas I don't hear anything either. I wouldn't worry about it, if you have a leak or problem with the EVAP system it would throw a code.
