Question What are you stateside folks clearing?

Talking paychecks here fella's. This question is applying to the E-5-E-7's to be specific. Just wondering what the shock value will be for me since I've been in Germany the last 7 yrs milkin it for all it's worth and will leave next summer. To give you some perspective I'm an E-7, no dependents other than the wife who is also and E-7. Base pay is 3569.00 or somewhere in that range as I don't recall and COLA is roughly 650-700.

So I'm thinking w/out COLA in the states I'd probalby see a 1K cut or a little more. Not too worried about the cut in COLA as long as I can continue to stash the cash.

So how much are you guys seeing?

not sure why you have the sad face on there but thats pretty good pay for only been in 4 years. Im AF E-5 with dependent and clear about the same and Ive been in 8 years. Your BAH is about 300.00 more then mine and I dont get sea pay either though. E-5 in 4 years in the AF is way to soon.

You shouldn't be shocked by how much less you will make in the states since it published on the DFAS website. Although I'm not completely up on mil-to-mil pay, you both will get base pay and I assume BAS. As far as BAH, I believe the higher ranking gets w/dependent rate BAH and the other gets w/o dependent rate for your location.

Lets just say you will get the exact same pay check but you have to pay rent when you get to the states. Thats how it was for me when I came to Arizona from Germany. Thats when Cola was about $475

I'm an E-5 and my check is $1407 every 2 weeks. Thats single rate

BAH will depend on zip code. I returned to the states from Germany about 7 months ago, the loss of cola didn't really hurt me much, but I got married a couple months before I left Germany, and my wife was already stationed state-side, so as I lost the cola, we both picked up BAH.

I took a $350.oo pay cut, moving from Va beach to Whidbey Island. And it is more expensive up here than in Va Beach. I am an E-5 Almost 8 yrs. Base Pay 2323.45 I beleive, BAH $929.oo I beleive, BAS $279.oo, I have over 5 yrs Sea Duty, And am currently on Sea Duty, But not getting paid for it, beings I am in a Squadron and I will never ever go underway with them. So that sucks big *****.

If you end up here at at Scott, the BAH sucks. I lost $670 a month coming from NJ. That said, all pays inclusive, I'm still clearing $4560 a month before taxes as a 10 year in E6. However, flight pay is $350 of that.
