LS1 Head Shootout!!!
I have been reaserching ls1 heads for a few days now and i have to say that my heads hurts. Last time I looked there were not sooooooo many companies making such good heads. My main question is.......I know AFR 205's are some of the better heads for LS1 but I have also read good things about the PRC heads from TSP. Are AFR worth the extra 1000 dollars compared to the PRC heads? What kind of differece is there between these heads 20 hp? 10hp? Any? Also I am willing to pay the extra for the AFR's if they are worth it. I don;t have unlimited funds but I am not going to hold back on my heads because I know they are the most important power maker. So if money doesn;t mean anything what LS1 heads would you use???
Also has there been any LS1 head shootouts in any mags that have tested SEVERAL companies. BTW I am using a stock short block with stock cubes so i think anythng over 220cc is going to be over kill for my little motor

Also what are the deal with the ET heads. it looks like the smallest cc is 215 would that be too much for a 346. the flow numbers look really good on these heads

I'm about to add some ET 215's next month. Already have cam and bolt ons. If you want, I'll post gains from just heads.
I know they are going to be even more $$ than AFR's b/c you need different pushrods due to valve angle.

I heard u can't run aftermarket roller rockers either on the ET heads is that true and why so?
does anyone know of a good website that has ls1 aftermarket head flow numbers. If not we should start a new thread where we only post flow numbers from all sorts of different head manufactures so everyone could see some real world testing. It would make a great sticky as well

maybe I missed it but I never saw a single flow test in that whole article. Some of the heads only showed flow numbers at .600 lift where was all the testing numbers at?
