Default who makes GM master cylinders?

anyone know who makes GM's clutch master clyinders? this is one of those parts that i'd prefer to buy genuine replacement parts on, but if GM's part is just a re-badged version of a brand commonly available at part stores, i'd like to save some money. someone told me the brand they sell at O'reilly autoparts is it, but i cant find supporting evidence.

while we're at it, anyone know who makes other GM parts? i know NGK makes the irridium spark plugs, PBR makes the brake calipers, and ARE made the firehawk wheels...

That is true. Latin American work quality is typically better than Oriential though.

Yep totally agree with that.

I'm not sure of anyone that sells it or who the actually company is that makes them.

trying to figure out the moral dilemma of whether a skilled child laborer is better than a reverse engineered chinese knockoff...

oh well at least it isn't overpaid Canadian worker...

I'll never figure out how a clutch made in Canada sold in the US sells for <$400, but comes to $1100 in the country that made it...

or better yet the crude oil shipped to the states gets processed and tacked on an extra $2 a gallon when sold back to us as gas...

I think I need to go back to my ignorant bubble, the real world is starting to **** me off.

Stock hydraulics are made by AP. They make the brakes for a good number of open wheel race cars.

They must have an OEM division as well.

SladeX,

Canadians make more because of the higher quality of the work, I thought everyone knew that .

But while were on the clutch topic, NAPA makes a Master Cylinder with different part numbers for the 98 and 02 Z28. Has anyone tried them?

Hi, Tryed to find this out also. Ordered one from advance auto parts. The addy is parts america. Arrived & it comes without the resivour or metal flex hose. All the #'s stamps, ect. Matched up everything exactly with the factory one on the car. They said it's made by Rabestos. Go price one out there. Still don't know who the supplyer is for GM on who makes them. Had the AP on it also. Go figgure. Dave

The 98-00 NAPA master cylinders definitely have a different part number than the 01-02 NAPA master cylinders.

Now I have no idea about the slaves.

Hi, On the master. Made me look. Rabestos part # CMA350014. AP part# DB07HF601 A Outside O/D is 1 inch. Inside diameter? I'm not gonna take it apart to measure if it's 3/4 or 7/8. lol. Dave
