Well as some of you may already know we decided to stick a cam in. We went with the Vindicator from Vengeance Racing. Finished up the install and worked on getting it tuned in. We decided to take the SS to the track last night just to test it and see what other issues we may have. The first couple passes were just to launch and ease on down the track. Found we still have some things to get worked out so it back to the shop for now.
We did get three decent passes in best pass was a 10.56 @ 126 mph.

Good results guys!!! Do you happen to have the weather for your best stock internal pass Vs the cam only passes you made? Just trying to get an idea on correction and DA...

When we ran our best stock internal the temp was about 60 degrees and DA was +600 to +900. The other night the temp was in the 80's, humidity was 69 and DA +2400

Great times. I can't wait to see what it'll run in November when it's 40 degrees out. What's your raceweight again? Somewhere in the 2700 pound range or is that the car by itself. Either way, that's one impressive car you guys have got there. I'd sure like to meet you at a track sometime this Fall just to see how mine compares. Keep up the good work.

I think his DA #'s are off. With the DA#'s I came up with from his SI best run and the cam best run he picked up .48 ET & 6.73 MPH. Very nice gain :D

What did you pick up on the dyno?

(best Darth Vader voice) Impressive!

I agree the weight is key here on the performance, but that car should hit 10.30s in good air!

I'm willing to bet you can get the 60' down in the 1.3X range with some suspension work.

Awesome ET's!

with that big of a cam i'd try throwing some 4.10's in it w/ the 26" tire... congrats guys! awesome times, i can't wait to see what it does with more tuning and in good air!!!

With some more work a 10.30's would be nice. Maybe we need to replace the stock torque arm with a performance aftermarket arm. See if that would get us some 1.3's 60fts.

Man I wish my car was that light LOL.

Killer runs, that car has potential 9's in it cam only once you've gotten it all figured out and the winter air gets here!

ya probably could use some taller tire and more gear, and while you're at it loosen that converter up some, to about 5000, and let her eat

Did you say stock tq arm????? :eek2:

Project_SS
08-03-2007, 10:04 PM
That's right! we are still using a stock torque arm for now. This is probably why it only lifts the front wheels a few inches and no wheelie. Maybe we should start looking into some chromoly torque arms and find one to try out.

JL ws-6
08-03-2007, 10:06 PM
bmr chromoly adjustabel and a bmr tranny crossmember.... I guarintee that will make a world of difference. You'll have some instant center adjustment with the crossmember mounting points too to help keep the nose down some once the car starts leaving hard, plus it will get the tq arm off the tranny tailshaft, something you DEFINATELY want to do.

Project_SS
08-03-2007, 10:25 PM
Do you happen to know how much this arm / crossmember weights

JL ws-6
08-04-2007, 06:00 AM
I know the crossmember was ligher then the stock M6 crossmember I took out of my car, that was very obvious when I picked teh 2 up, never weigh'd them though.

The tq arm will be heavier then stock, but I am sure it's WAY lighter then the spohn one I took off that had it's own heavy duty crossmember that went where the factory g load brace or a bmr driveshaft loop goes. Even with adding a bmr driveshaft loop, I know that I saved weight going with the bmr crossmember/ds loop and tq arm over the stock tranny crossmember and the spohn arm I had on the car.

SD tune here. It just been too hot here to go to the track the past two weeks . The temps have been in the 100's and with the humidity the heat index has been 110 or higher depending on location.
