Shooting Flames!
Okay, on my wife's '00 Formula she is shooting flames from the cut-out and tail pipe when slowing down from WOT. I just bought a MAFT version 4.0 from a friend really cheap and my question is. With it shooting flames does that mean that I need to lean it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Shooting Flames!
don't do anything with ur maft till u atap it and find out if there is a rich condition... u might make a lean condition worse..
yes usually a flame indicates a rich mixture but also it could be that the exhaust is so hot right at the cut out u are igniting the exhaust fumes... the mixture might be just right for that... if it doesnt do it with the cutouts closed Im confedent ur just getting the right mixture of Fuel/Air/Heat(from the exhaust) to ignite the fumes...

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I have seen cars tuned to perfection do it. It happens usually right at a shift when letting off the throttle.
But on that note I would recommend checking it out with auto tap to read the O2's on the floor, just to see what is going on.
