Default Do I need a new starter?

While screwing down my positive battery cable on the starter, I stripped it really bad, now the nut won't go in at all, and the bolt is wobbly and loose and stripped. Do I have to buy another starter or can I replace the bolt. If I do should I just buy a reman. one from autozone or somewhere similiar or should i buy a new one. Thanks for the help
