Unhappy Odd Starting Problem (with video)

My 02 Firehawk has been experiencing a very peculiar starting malfunction. I'll take you through the motions. First cold start of the day, it starts up perfectly. No problems. Then after it's been driven comes the problem..

It's like a grinding noise, almost as if you're overcranking the key when starting the car. This led me to putting in a new starter. Nada, still does it. Maybe my redtop is overvolting with cranking amps once it's warm - replaced it. Still doing it.

As for the video, the first crank was with nothing on. It does it for a second then stops. I turned it off, put on the AC, then cranked it again. Now it makes the same noise, for a MUCH longer time, to the point where I had to turn off the AC to stop it.

Now what.

sounds like a pulley bearing has gone bad...does it ever do it when driving....could also be the starter staying engaged....cant really tell on that video.

It does not do it while driving. Unless it's a warm start and I turn on the AC in the first few minutes. Starter is a month old... both my old starter and this starter do it.

well if it does it when you turn the ac on it could just be a belt but it doesnt sound like a belt at all....does it do when the ac is off and you start it up?

Maybe your a/c compressor is seizing up or one of the pulleys. That would be my guess.

my best guess at hearing the video, is you have a problem with a wire to ignition key to the starter seems like it is overloading it it might just be a sticky switch
