Default 88 trans am VS. 86 firebird s/e

Im looking to buy either an 88 trans am or an 86 firebird s/e. The 88 trans am is an automatic, V8 5.0L 305, 150,000 miles and t-tops for $1,000. The 86 s/e is an automatic, 305 v8, 150,000 miles and t-tops for $2,000. Both run and driven often, owners have good knowledge of maintence and repairs, no rust, interiors are fine. Any idea on the better deal here?

Why would you even buy the 86 s/e if they have the same miles and the 88 is a grand cheaper.

From my understanding, doesn't the S/E model run a four cylinder or a six? Get the TA.

well the 88 is fuel injected, I'd say go for that over the S/E if its carbed, plus the TA's only a grand..
