Default 79 TA for sale 455 olds.......

thatswhat i found in the local classified ads today and well im not sure about it. i am not an old car expert or even very knowledgable on them so i will say what the ad says and then i can get you opipion.

1979 trans am t-tops, black interior, 455 olds, runs good, hasnt moved, been in garage for 14 years.

the pic was not a big help to see the condition of the car so i called and no one answered. so if yall could leave some feed back

what are they asking. who knows, could be decent, could be a basket case. have to go and look. get more info, take pics, then come back and post, and we'll see what you have.

Kinda doubt its a 455 olds, a 403 Olds (or 400 Pontiac) is what came in the '79s. A 455 Olds would cause the shaker to sit too high (a BBO has a taller block than the SBO 403/350/307). Could be a 455 Pontiac though.

could be a 403 olds....but you never know. people swapped motors in late 2nd gens as often as they changed socks. anything is possible. the guy could have tek screwed the shaker to the hood for all the OP knows. ive seen it done before.....

I'd bet money on it being an Olds 403, personally.. can't really figure out why someone would put an Olds 455 in that car. As was said, the 403 was a stock motor in that car, where if they were gonna do an engine swap, it seems like it would make more since to put a Pontiac or Chevy motor in it than to do an Olds motor.

well i would go look at the car but i am kinda in a sand box right now, and my wife think a good car is a one with an engine and wheels so no luck there thank you all for your input.
