Default O2 Slow Response

Current setup on the car was completed in May. At that time, I installed a pair of new 13111s into the headers I just installed. Tuned the car and all was well. For the last 2 months, the car has basically been parked, although I did frequently move it in and out of the garage. Pulled it out to start driving it again last week and it sets the O2 slow response code for BOTH banks. The sensors have less than 500 miles on them. I cleared them and they came back on 50 miles later.

Did I damage the O2s by starting the car, backing it out of the garage, and turning it off? If thats not it, what would cause both sensors to throw the code at the same time like this?

Thanks
AW

Hmmmm, no I haven't romped on it at all. I will take it out for some spirited runs today and see what that does

They most likely are set at idle since they will be switching like they should (enough heat) once you are moving much at all.

I cleared the codes and did some WOT throttle runs....the SES light hasn't come back, but my drive to work is about 4 miles, so it will probably take a few days for it to set again

Wide band sensors don't usually have the best life expectancy.

I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out, so I bought new GM sensors and ran a test. I installed one GM and one Bosch sensor, then datalogged the two during normal driving. Sure enough the Bosch sensor was switching noticeably slower compared to the GM sensor. The LTFT's on the Bosch side were also way off.

so the autozone bullshit might be the cause. just go to GM and bend over in front of the parts counter, point at your *** and tell them you want 2 O2's right there?

Possibly. Call SDPC (sponsor here) for the best prices on GM parts.
