Default help with brake swap!!

I am doing the LS1 brake swap on my 93 Z28, and am having two issues.....

the steering knuckle is not coming off the lower ball joint, and the wheel hub is not coming off the steering knuckle.

Are there any special tools or tricks?

Reattach the knuckle to the upper so that the spring has some tension. You don't have to tighten it, just get a few threads on the upper castle nut.

Now loosen, not remove, the lower ball joint nut a few threads.

Then a few good, hard raps with the hammer on the side of the knuckle where the lower ball joint attaches should break the lower loose.

If not, a pickle fork. But, you will probably destroy the low ball joint boot, at the very least.

It's a tight fit, but should come out with a punch on the back side. Be careful around the ABS sensor.

Also try using a small chisel to seperate the face of the hub and the knuckle.

Good luck!

The hub is a pain. It is just in there really well and probably rusted. Patience.
