How to tell if a camaro is a true ss not a z28?
I got a carfax on a 98 ss convertible and on the carfax it doesn't say ss. It says z28. So my question is how can you tell if the car is a true ss and not just a hood and spoiler thrown on with zr1's? Is there an rpo code or anything? Thanks

But yes, I understand what you mean. And code WU8 is correct.

As for the springs/shocks, they were the same as a Z28 in later years unless the car was optioned with the SLP/Bilstein suspension. Eariler years used 1LE springs even on a non-SLP option SS.
Only other suspension difference on the later years was the front sway bar diameter and bushings.
