Default My new TFS 235cc heads--flow #'s

I received my 235cc TFS heads today from TEA and they are sweet. I had them milled .010 to get my compression up a bit. I tried to take pictures but they turned out bad. These are going on a 421 iron block stroker. Here are the flow numbers:

LIFT INTAKE EXHAUST
.100 67.1 57.2
.200 147.1 123.5
.300 237.0 206.5
.400 292.5 250.4
.500 331.7 269.2
.550 342.0 275.6
.600 350.2 278.3

The intake valves are 2.08" and the exhaust valves are 1.60". My cam will be small (for this size motor) as I'm going with a G5X4. Motor should be done within the next month.

The mid lift flow number are insane. Great looking heads. Should make killer power, even with the 240/244 111LSA cam. The X4 is not what I would consider small on a 421. It's more mid-size. Kinda like a 228 cam in a 346. Good luck!

Thanks Patrick. With the right intake and headers, what kind of power do you think it can make? Also, do you think it will have any lope at idle or will it be pretty tame? Thanks.

With a ported intake/tb and 1 7/8" headers, you should easily see 550 rwhp which is phenomenal for a cam of this size. You will know it has a cam in it, but it will be easy to tune. Not totally tame, but pretty mild. The kind of setup I'd drive anywhere.

Thanks again Patrick. Right now I'm stuck with my LS6 intake and LG Street Series headers. My wallet only goes so deep.

Whee. Even with a milder cam that thing will flat out make some power.

Ron was saying that the Vindicator with the TFS 225s is good for about 540-550 in a 402. Since the G5X4 and Vindicator are pretty similar, if you add some cubes to that and a bit more mid-range flow, you should definitely see 550rwhp with the appropriate bolt-ons and compression.

Those are pretty close to the same numbers on the website, did you have them flowed after they were milled? Is that what those numbers are?

Thanks Jake. I hope you're right.

99blancoSS--It doesn't state on the flow sheet if they were tested after they were milled.

Those heads were flowed before they were milled. A .010 mill is not going to alter the flow numbers any significant amount. Every set of heads we build gets flowed to verify results so he is quoting #'s from his flow sheet for his heads.

Do these heads back up at .650" ??

I know Vengeance has been talking about keeping the lift around ~.600", but is there any reason for that if the heads at least hold flow until .650"?
