Default Bounced off rev limiter, am i screwed?

I was racing someone and being new to manual bounced it off the rev limiter before I shifted from 3rd to 4th. It bounced like once or twice before I caught it. It seems to run fine , no funny smells, and no warning lights are on. Are there some other things I should check for to be sure? Could you bend a push-rod or valve by hitting the rev limiter like I did?

You are fine... thats what the rev limiter is for, as long as you didn't sit there at redline bouncing it off for 5 minutes like the hondas do....

you should be fine. I was on the rev limiter a bunch of times in my 95k mile 01 camaro. If you miss a shift, that is a different story. And sitting the limiter will cause damage.

I've hit a few times, you should be fine unless you are doing it every time you drive the car.

It's a rev LIMITER... they aren't going to set it high enough to ensure you destroy your engine, that would be pointless.

Its the accidental downshift forced over rev that will hurt, bouncing off it on acceleration isn't hurting anythng but your times.

It can definitely hurt it if its hard enough. If you don't hear or feel anything funny don't worry.

You said you hit it while in winding out third gear? You are most likely fine.

The most likely way you would bend a PR is forced overrev (via accidental downshift, and in some cases, you'd be luck to get out with just a bent PR with this)

Boucing on the limiter while free-revving (no-load on engine/ in nuetral)

Bouncing off the limiter doing a burnout or doughnuts.
