air bag light????

Default air bag light????

just dropped in the new fresh engine.....for some reason the air bag light is lit on the gauge cluster...could i have missed a electrical connection or something else?

I take it you removed the motor with the k-member.
If so any chance someone had some fun spinning the steering wheel?
If so I bet that you have a broken wire harness for the air bag.
You could pull the bag and disconnect both end of the harness and do a continuity check of the harness.

as a matter of fact the wheel was spun.....damn SOB! is this a hard fix?

is there any write up telling me how to do this, im not 100% sure about working with the air bag

Congrats! You just spent ~125.00 at the dealer for a new clockwork spring. You will also need a locking ring puller. Tell the dealer if you have wheel controls or not as those are different.

Basically what happens is when you spin the wheel too far you break the spot welds on the ribbon inside the clockwork spring. I took one apart once after I broke it. Last time I ever did that.

If you can't locate one in the parts wanted section and you need one without wheels controls I have a couple I could sell you. They have the plug cut off them so you could just splice the wires and not take apart the whole steering wheel. You aren't supposed to do that but if you solder and use shrinkwrap it will be fine.
