Default Traction Control and a Turbo?

Never really thought of this before, but is it possible to still have functional traction control with a turbo? Or would it always be deactivated to protect the motor since I believe the traction control functions by the way of cutting fuel first then adding brakes? Just want to know if you can have it working with a turbo? Thanks

It is still crappy and useless unless you are driving in snow or rain.
