If this is a repost please delete. The search is functioning as usual....
I see on here almost everyday people wanting to know if they have or have found a true SS or a cloned Z28. For those of you who need to know.
96-97 SS is R7T
98-02 SS is WU8
I hope this helps.

On ~ 99 to 2002 SS, there could also be Y2Y for added SLP content. As you see here:

Craig, did you special order yours with that ratio? I thought all DE 381 cars came with 3:73..mine is exactly(black ink) like the pic above.

Good catch on the GMMG gear change addendum!
380 hp Phase 1's typically came with 3:73's and the 435 hp Phase 2 typically came with 4:10's, granted you could have virtually anything you wanted though! :)

Good eye Mark. I have seen a DE 381 car with 4:10's in Ohio but the owner does not want to talk. Its possible that he special ordered 410's but I haven't been able to confirm it.
As I've mentioned in the past, the original DE cars are elusive, scattered all over the country and often imitated. To my knowledge, only nine original owners exist.
Most important is to enjoy your car.
