Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question or not, but how long are un-opened quarts of oil good for? I have had some extra ones that have been around for about 10+ months and am wondering if they are still good to use in my car for the next oil change or not.

They should be good. Sometimes a quart can sit on the shelf for months before its sold. They don't have expiration dates. (Not trying to be sarcastic)

as long as oil doesnt ever get used it will last a long time..

fwiw I usually buy enough oil to do 4 or 5 oil changes at a time, so I have the stuff on the shelf when I need it.... never had any problems from it. As long as the container is closed, I can't see any reason that the oil would go bad. Over the winter, I actually was gonna try to get a 20 gallon drum so I have enough to go all race season next year, and I was considering swapping over to synthetic in my truck so that both my daily drivers are on the same oil, and get a drum of that too... might be cheaper to do it that way in the long run, certainly more convenient.

Dont you need some type of license to keep a 55 gal drum of oil/gas on your property?

In order for that to matter..... I'd have to care about it LOL.

I'll have a 55 gal drum of C16 next year as well or maybe the NOS 118 blend if it is needed
