Default my ls6 intake install w/ pics and questions.(holy dirty valley)

well i pulled the old intake off... not to bad at all thanks to ls1howto.com my ls6 intake didn't have the port seals so i am reusing the one from my ls1 intake. anyone see a problem with this? they are in great shape and fit perfect. they have the same part # as the ls6 ones.

i'm keeping the coolant line where they are. i knocked out the ribs on the bottom so it would be a good fit. i think i'll have to lightly flatten the coolant lines themselves. this is what others have done with good results.

i got this intake for $150. the red doesn't bother me, actually its a good paint job and my car is black. i think i'll get some black corvette fuel rail covers too.

i vaccumed out the ports but didn't clear them off with any cleaner.. should i?? no loose debris left but its just dirty...

also when putting the intake back on, do i have to put those 2 spongy pads that were on the underside back on? thanks!

There have been concerns that the foam pads actually contribute to knock sensor corrosion and failure. I am not using any.
