LS4 Performance - Island Dragway Aug. 5

If anyone is interested Island Dragway in Great Meadows N.J. is having an Impala day www.islanddragway.com/sunschedule.htm of test n tune Sun. Aug. 5th. I'm sure the majority will be B- bodies but that should make for some good ol' competition. I don't know how many of you are from my area in NW Jersey, doesn't seem to be to many Imp SS around by me but I'll be headin over there, I believe gates open at 11:00 am, test n tune from 12-5. It will be the Impy's first time to the track, hope to crank off a low 14 with the weather looking to be 90+.

NOTIME - Stay cool at "Traction Park" I mean Mountain Creek. I grew up in Hamburg about 5 miles from there and lived in Vernon on the slopes right there for a couple of years. Fun times.

Count - Those M/T's do look sick. Bring em' on down and light em up at the track.

2007 Impala SS White / Ebony

Yeah obviuosly you are there and you don't see me. unfortunatly I had to stay in.... I'm going to see about going next week...Hope you are all having fun. CThe cars should do ok today.

Well lets just say it was HOT at the track today. I was a little dissappointed at my times so tomorrow morning I'm going to the chevy dealer trading in the Imp and buying a Z06. j/k I was the only W-body there. Talk about a fish out of water. I got booted from running with all of the other B-body Impala's, they were having there ECIRC East Coast Impala Racing Club get together. :eyes: I think they were just scarred of getting :buttkick: beat by a new gen W-body in front of all their buddies. Those guys and gals were pullin some serious times though. I would have been embarassed badly if I did get to run with them. As for my times here goes,

1st run - 60' = 2.230 et. 14.824 @ 93.35 left trans in 3, Left lane

2nd run - 60' = 2.464 et. 15.019 @ 95.13 manually shifted, Left lane

3rd run - 60' = 2.204 et. 14.578 @ 94.41 left trans in 3, Right lane

All three runs w/Traction Control off. I need some mods but my wife seems to affectively disagree.

Well you can def work on your launches. Work on getting to like a 2.0 at least. Manually shifting is no good...auto is always auto...even when manually shifting. Let it do it's thing. A computer has better timing then you...it reflects in your 15s time....that's avg stock L67 territory...Are you in an elevated area??

And leaving it in 3rd is no good because you wanna try to trap in 2nd. So, just stick it in 2 and leave it there. Leaving it in 2nd rather than 3rd will make it hold out 2nd gear a little longer. That shift into third is gonna slow you down.

Do all that, and you should be hitting a 14.3 at least.

As for the wife....one thing you can do is sneak in some nicer tires when it's time to replace the stockers. She'll never know the difference! ;) But it'll def make a big difference in your launches...the stockers suck. Also, I have a cheap mod for you. Buy my CAI intake for $150. I've only had it like 2 weeks. It's $265 new so...pretty good deal. See my sig.

Yeah just roll into the throttle. it should net you a low 14. even in that weather. I'm going to try to get there either next week or the week after. going to try those new drag radials out.

We should meet up sometime. Not sure if this is too far for you, but my GN club gets together on Tuesdays for a cruise night at Fuddruckers in Bridgewater. I usually bring the GN but could bring the Impy one time.
