Default Fans run all the time w/160 stat & tune

I installed a hypertech 160 F stat a couple months ago and the gauge always read about 200 and the fans would cycle like normal. At the end of May I had the car tuned for the stat so that the fans would cycle earlier. Now the fans never shut off and the gauge is still over 200 F. It seams that they stay on high all the time. Problem with the stat/tuning? Air in the system? I've heard people had to drill there stats? Just wondering if I should try another stat or have it reprogrammed. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Well the stock temp gages on these cars are just a glorified dummy light...they don't read actual temps.

True that the gauge is not accurate . No worries as long as it sticks .As far as the fans sounds like the tune made them come on at a very low temp as the somputer is reading true temp as your gausge just moves a bit .

with my 160 stat, i can watch the exact coolant temps on my scanner. and they rarely fall below 175.

therefore if the tuner set the fan temps too low...they will always be on.

sounds like you had a bad tuner.
